Frequently asked questions
Are my items insured while in your care? What happens if something gets damaged or goes missing?
StoreSome will cover the replacement cost of missing or damaged items, up to a maximum of $1,000. Simply contact us and we'll make it right.
Which areas of Ottawa do you service?
StoreSome services the greater Ottawa area, including Orléans, Kanata, Stittsville, and Barrhaven.
Is return delivery included in my monthly price, or is there an extra fee?
Pickup and return delivery are included in the flat monthly price. There are no extra fees.
What items can I store with StoreSome?
Generally, any item that can be handled by one person can be stored. StoreSome will not accept perishable food, hazardous materials, firearms, explosives, or illegal substances. Contact us to discuss.
Are there any setup fees, pickup fees, or hidden charges?
There are no setup or hidden fees. You only pay the monthly storage fee per item. Note that monthly fees do not include GST.
Can I cancel anytime, or is there a minimum storage period?
There is no minimum storage period. Fees are charged monthly and are not prorated for partial months. Please provide at least one week's notice to cancel.
How do I schedule a pickup, and how much notice do you need?
Pickups and returns can be scheduled through the StoreSome.ca form or by email. We ask for at least 48 hours' notice, though we'll do our best to accommodate urgent requests.
You can also pre-schedule seasonal returns months in advance — for example, if you send holiday décor to storage in January, you can schedule its return for November.
A confirmation email will be sent before every return, and return dates can be rescheduled at no charge.
Is your facility climate-controlled and secure?
Yes. StoreSome's facility is climate-controlled and secure. Items are stored in a monitored, indoor facility maintained at a consistent temperature year-round.
Can I use my own bins, or do I need to use yours?
You're welcome to use your own bins or boxes, or purchase bins and wardrobe boxes through StoreSome. Customer-supplied containers must be in good condition — StoreSome reserves the right to refuse items based on condition. Bins or boxes outside our standard sizing may be subject to custom pricing.
How do I know my items won't be opened or tampered with?
StoreSome employees will never open or tamper with stored items. All bins and boxes are sealed with anti-tamper tags or tape upon pickup, so you'll immediately know if a container has been opened.
You're also welcome to apply your own lock to any bin for added peace of mind.
